Preservation and Move of Second House Donation

In the summer of 1996, Dr. Paul and Dr. Robin found that their practice was growing so much that they needed more parking for the Family Health Care Center on Crooks Road.

There was an home next door where the Ehrmann's wanted to expand their parking lot into, but they realized that demolishing the home wasn't an option. Built in the 1920s, the home had been completely remodeled and restored the year before.

So the Ehrmann's decided to find a family who needed a large home and have it donate it to them. Greg and Elizabeth Veit and their six children soon received the home. In July 1996, the home was moved 1.5 miles to property owned by the Veits.

Here's a look at moving day!

The house was originally located to the south of the
Family Health Care Center on Crooks Road.

The house was raised up on jacks and then joists were slid
underneath the house to support it for the move.

Ready to move.
