This allows a way for your doctor to identify those patients who have this disorder and treat it early enough to prevent fractures.

Ask you doctor to order this test if you have one or more of the following risk factors for Osteporosis:

• SMALL THIN FRAME 
• FAMILY HISTORY OF OSTEOPOROSIS
• SMOKER
• AVOIDANCE OF DAIRY FOODS
• LOW VITAMIN D INTAKE
• CAUCASIAN OR ASIAN ANCESTRY 
• NEVER TAKEN ESTROGEN
• SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE - LESS THAN 1 1/2 HOUR A WEEK OF EXERCISE* 
• EXCESSIVE CAFFEINE INTAKE 
• FAMILY HISTORY OF OSTEOPOROSIS 
• LOW TESTOSTERONE LEVELS IN MEN 
• EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL INTAKE 

*WITH THE SAME DEXA MACHINE, IN ADDITION, WE NOW HAVE THE ABILITY TO MEASURE FAT AND LEAN BODY MASS TO HELP YOU MAXIMIZE YOUR WORKOUT.
